As a high school student in the 1970's, I once had silly dreams of trying to make our society better by being a rich businessman and elected U.S. Senator, but, like most of us: bullying and low wage slave reality set in. So, over the years, I am finally trying to achieve inner peace through meditation because I now only want to teach angels. Still, I would like the local fame of running for Congress as a Green in my birth city district of Ohio's 8th, if not as a Democrat -- if only to promote my meditation practice. My resume is ...
- I have 30+ credits at Miami University of Ohio, after graduating with a one year business diploma at a community college.
- I ran, once, for local Mayor and Council.
- I was, twice, elected to a local Democratic party seat
- and I tried encouraging my local leaders to display a United Nations flag at its International Friendship Park. It is now a disappointment, with them ignoring how to "re-energize it", but they have moved on to build other parks.
I could also post videos about myself and how I feel, but I barely care enough to vote. Still, I am still a Democrat and I'm enjoying the current Trump karma because, at least, Democrats pretend better to care more for the disabled, elderly, families, students, the poor, veterans and the rest of us struggling people as the GOP Republican leaders only care about money.
Please, prove me wrong.
Instead, I trust God. For only God has been able to give to me through my wife, Sherri. I now know God had better plans for me all along: to care for those less fortunate than I am., if it is only to be my disabled wife that I now devote my wife to. So, I pray and meditate to thank God himself every day.
I doubt I would get elected to Congress. For I am not well-educated. Nor I am not rich and do not want to beg for money. So, what would I have done, as a Congressman?
Using my own personal experience as a poor Struggling American, I would ...
- help save our planet by promoting investments in energy, transportation and education.
- Never put our kids, elderly or disabled "out on the streets" or in bad places by cutting EBT: food stamps and public housing {which can be turn into tax breaks by 2030's).
- Promote gun control of having to wait to age 21, buying gun owner insurance and stronger background checks -- especially for the mentally ill.
- If you want to cut, and, yet, improve our public education? Have local schools run by the states while the feds put high school and college on-line. It saves on money and bullying: one of the reasons I did not complete high school nor college.
- Save, at least, part of ObamaCare., even if it is delayed as GOP, Obama and the U.S. Senate work on a new health care plan. A federal judge, literally, told me it is my best my best hope for any life-saving weight loss surgery for my lifetime obesity: that I could not get because of my official mild bipolar depression: an illness 67% of us got and I hope meditation can control.
- Make SNAP more like WIC for everyone.
- Raise full retirement to age 70 then to 75 years old, but keep partial at 62 right now then raise it to 65 by 2030.
- Electoral College Votes to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands plus one to the U.S. Pacific Islands, including Guam.
- FREE post high school, tech or college education for everybody,
- Another idea is ... IF D.C. can't have their own U.S. Senator, why can't District of Columbia vote for Maryland's U.S. Senator? Again, I could summit it on-line.
- Have Social security credit for volunteer caregivers.
- and have NASA sending out our FaceBook pages, and other Internet out into space. Let the ET aliens know who we all are.
